Foley City Council has packed agenda

    The City of Foley’s first planned council meeting for 2011 has a packed agenda.

    A public work session will be held today in the conference room at Foley City Hall at 4 p.m. with a council meeting to follow at 5:30 p.m. in the council chambers.

    The agenda for today’s council meeting includes:

•    A discussion on possibly using a city building as a testing site for a new LED lighting system, which may result in energy savings.

•    A discussion on accepting grant funds from the district attorney’s office to purchase equipment for municipal court.

•    Continue discussions to address the mold issue facing the police department.

•    Discuss allowing the fire department to apply for a grant to improve fire prevention and safety efforts.

•    And discuss accepting the loss of revenue statement from BP.

The council will also consider various zoning ordinances at tonight’s meeting.
