FOLEY, Ala. - The Foley City Council approved a resolution at Monday's council meeting to accept the lowest bid in purchasing a new trackless event train.
"It's for the museum and Caboose Club," Joe Bouza, city purchasing agent, said.
The train will be bought from Roundhouse Trackless Train Company for just over $18,000, but it will only cost the city $3,000, Bouzan said. The club is donating around $15,000 to the purchase of a new train.
There was discussion to sell the current train to offset the cost for the city, but Bouzan said there is no word yet on how much the city could get from selling the train.
