Foley Elementary School will have a first grade Family Reading Night tonight.. The event will begin at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria.Congratulations to Mr. Hoffman’s class for winning the Chick-Fil-A cow for the month of October!

Mrs. Edwards’ first grade class is doing a review of all the things they have learned in reading so far this year. The students also went to a Kindergarten class and read to the children.  They are making quilts in math. The class has also been learning about Christopher Columbus, their bodies, and fire safety. The children are having a busy but fun week. Mrs. Montgomery’s second grade students are studying sfil in science.  This week the students are doing experiments with local soil and identifying whether there is clay, humus or sand in the soil.  They are expanding their math skills by learning number words that correspond to the number symbol.  Reading has been really exciting because the story this week is about how dogs help rescue people in dangerous situations.  They have had a terrific week in second grade and cannot wait for next week.
