Admission is $10.00 and includes a silent and live auction, raffle entry, child care and a tailgate-style dinner. Area restaurants who are proving the meal are Mellow Mushroom, Lambert’s, West Beach Grill and SHMILY Tree. Some of the items that are being auctioned include condo packages, artwork, restaurant gift cards, movie passes, golf passes, autographed sports collectibles, and unique items made by FES students. FES would like to thank all of those who have donated items for our auction. We truly do appreciate the support we receive from our wonderful Foley community.
DIBELs testing begins next week for the entire school. All kindergarten children will be tested on Letter Naming, Phoneme Segmentation, and Nonsense Words. Older students will be tested on Oral Reading Fluency. Remember parents, DIBELS is a timed test so speed matters. The boys and girls have one minute on each skill and need to go as fast as possible. Please encourage your children, as always, to do their “best on the test”!
Mrs. Armour’s K-ESL classes have been busy learning to be Nature Spies! They have been learning about signs of Spring. They also celebrated Easter by learning about eggs and things that hatch. The students just finished a unit on the four parts of plants (roots, stem, leaf, and bloom). They also learned to use their 5 senses to see, hear, smell, touch, and even taste different items related to the themes. The boys and girls have learned many new vocabulary words and developed language skills by reading and writing about each subject. Songs, poetry, and stories helped to bring those stories alive!
Mrs. Campbell’s Pre-K class has learned the letter names and sounds and they have been using them to write. The boys and girls are writing about farm animals and having so much fun! They are also working on 3-D farm art projects. Our children are so smart! Our English as a Second Language students are even writing in two languages.
Mrs. DeMaio's Kindergarten class is practicing their parts for the end-of-the-year Ocean Program. Our class will be electric eels, rock fish, and, of course, 2 drumfish to round out our own version of "We Will Rock You" and "The Electric Slide".
