Foley Elementary has completed our third quarter of school and will be having our Honor Roll assembly. First and Second Grade assemblies will be on Tuesday, April, 3, 2012. First Grade will be at 12:45 p.m. and Second Grade at 1:45 p.m. The assemblies for Third and Fourth Grade will be Wednesday, April 4, 2012. Fourth Grade will be at 12:15 p.m. and Third Grade at 1:30 p.m.

State English testing is going well for Mrs. Potts’ English as a Second Language students. The amount of English these students learn in a year or three is astonishing. Many of us wish we could go to Italy, France or Spain... and learn as well and as fast as these students do! Soon the children will be working on a special project researching and writing on computers about "the butterfly affect" and then they will share it with Mrs. Obama! Mrs. Potts feels it is very rewarding to be a teacher at Foley Elementary!

Mrs. Montgomery’s class is just starting a new science unit called Balance and Weight.  Students will be balancing objects and finding out if the object is symmetrical.  The class gets so excited about AMSTI science and it makes science more interesting.  In math, they are measuring using the metric system.   Last week, the boys and girls used the standard system of measuring and measured the hallway in front of the classroom. Boy was it ever so long! This week, the class will measure it using the metric system.  Reading is a blast this week because of the new story Horace and Morris but Mostly Delores. It is about a boys’ and girls’ clubhouse.  Finally, next week the boys and girls will be on spring break!
