Foley Elementary School is always a busy place with lots of exciting things happening. Ms. Carol Harris’ gifted class had the pleasure of watching the Shakespeare Festival actors perform and to have a “workshop” with them. During the workshop the students learned some valuable tips about performing for an audience.
Some of our Kindergarten students and teachers really looked fine in their fancy clothes for the Fancy Nancy celebration. The students wore their fanciest clothes and participated in the Fancy Nancy Fashion Show. There were beautiful tutus, tiaras and feather boas on the girls and some of the boys even showed up in ties and top hats. A fanciful time was had by all!
Mrs. Morris’ Special Education preschool class has been learning about friendship in honor of Valentine's Day. They have read books and sang songs about being a good friend. The students are learning how to say each others names and look friends in the eye when talking to or playing with them.
Mrs. Stewart’s first grade class has been studying different types of living animals in science. The students have learned about the characteristics and habitats of living animals through hands on exploration. In Math they are finding different combinations of numbers to get a sum of a greater number. We love discovery learning with investigations!
Remember, school will not be in session on Feb. 20-21. We want to wish all of our Foley Elementary families a safe and happy Mardi Gras break. See you all on Wednesday, February 23.
