Foley Elementary Principal Bill Lawrence and a group of students presented a $2,500 check to the Foley Centennial Plaza fund at the Foley City Council meeting April 1.

Foley Elementary students have pledged to raise $5,000 to build one of the walkways into Centennial Plaza, which will be built in Foley’s Heritage Park to mark Foley’s first 100 years. The walkway will include a plaque recognizing Foley Elementary students for making the contribution.

The plaza will be completed in time for the centennial, which is in January 2015.
