Foley Fire Department honors Oar House Restaurant

FOLEY — The Foley Fire Department recently presented Oar House Restaurant its 2012 Ralph Schumacher Community Service Award. The award was presented to the family-owned and operated business that is open 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday through Friday at its 321-C S. McKenzie St. location as a tribute to the late Schumacher, who was a 42-year of the Foley Fire Department, as well as its chief for two separate stints. “We named this award after him to recognize a member of our community that shows service above self,” Foley Fire Chief Joey Darby said. He explained that Oar House fit that criteria throughout 2012, Oar House is family owned and operated by Vikki Torretti, her daughter Stacy Lindermuth and son David Lindermuth.
