FOLEY — A Foley girl is recovering after being bitten by a dog earlier this week.

According to Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office Maj. Anthony Lowery, a German shepherd bit a 3-year-old at a Nall Road residence Monday evening.

“We received a call Monday at around 6 p.m.,” he said in a phone interview.

The girl was bitten in more than one place on her body.

“She did have some severe injuries to her hands and her face,” Lowery said.

The girl was promptly taken to South Baldwin Regional Medical Center.

“She was treated and admitted,” SBRMC spokesperson Kim Neal said, adding that the girl was then discharged on Tuesday.

Lowery said the dog was found to be current on his vaccinations and no action will be taken against him or his owner.

“No crime was committed,” the major said. “Not all bad things that happen are a crime.”
