Foley girls struggle to Senior Night loss

FOLEY, Ala. — McGill-Toolen spoiled Foley’s Senior Night with a 61-21 win over the Lady Lions on Tuesday.

Foley (2-17) kept things close in the first period. Brittney Davis has seven of Foley’s nine points as the Yellow Jackets took a 13-9 lead after one. McGill outscored Foley 14-4 in the second and 16-4 in the third to put the game away.

Foley coach Chad Anderson said his senior class of Stephanie Metz, Hayley Duckworth and Katelyn Willis has been through a lot in the last three years.

“This senior group has been through, I know of, three coaches in two years,” Anderson said. “I don’t know what their four-year career was like, but I know that ever since I have been here, I am the third coach since last August. For these girls to stick through what they have stuck through and continue to work dilligently every day, that’s a class act. I wish them the best in whatever they may do.”

Davis led Foley with 13 points in the loss.

Foley plays at Daphne tonight at 6 p.m.
