FOLEY, Ala. — Parents, teachers and students converged at Foley High School Thursday night for the school’s annual open house.
The event opened in the gym with a welcome from Russ Moore, former FHS principal recently named Baldwin Public Schools associate superintendent. He then turned the mic over to Shane Tucker, who succeeded Moore as FHS principal.
The opening program included Tucker pointed out that with 1,800 students, FHS is the largest school in Baldwin County. It also included by performances from both the FHS Cheerleaders and Band.
Following the program, the evening sent families on an abbreviated trek through their students’ day, giving them five minutes each to both make it from class to class and visiting with the teacher, starting with Block One and progressing through the typical school day.
“I know you can do it,” Tucker told parents. “Your kids do it every day.”
On their way to those classes, families ran across tables manned by various school club members, who both explained their missions and activities, and recruited new members.
