Foley Intermediate School GEP students have been participating in the Alabama Stock Market Game. Teams were given 100,000 virtual dollars and chose which companies to invest in. Two teams from our school placed in the top 10 in the southern elementary division. The team 10 K$ formed by Brendan Tidwell, Carson Major, Kevin Wilson, and Osten Belew, placed 9th out of 223 teams. They made $17,397.56 during the 5 week competition. Our 7th place team is The R.J.'s. They made $19,145.23, mostly from investing in Apple and Under Armour. The members of this team are Rosco Pollie, Trenton Garia, Tyrone Pruitt, and Mathew Clark. We are very proud of these students here at Foley Intermediate School.

On May 3, 2012 there was a basketball game and the competitors were the Foley Firefighters the Foley Policemen. They had the game in our gym. It was a really good match. The score was constantly going up. They were running, jumping and shooting. One of the fire fighters ran so fast that he tripped and knocked down the net! The game was really intense and the score was close but the firefighters won.

Field Day was a fun day to compete in events and talk to your friends. We handed out trophies for championship and sportsmanship. Mr. Bender's class were the champions of the 6th grade, and Mrs. Thompson/Dean's class won the sportsmanship trophy for the 6th grade. Mrs. Prince's class won the championship trophy for the 5th grade, and Mrs. Wheaton's class won the sportsmanship trophy for the 5th grade. Some events we did were sack race, tug of war, and balloon toss. Everybody who participated in field day had fun together. We would like to thank Coach Anderson for planning a fun Field Day for us.
