FOLEY, Alabama — The Foley Lions defeated the Blount Leopards 14-7 and beat the Baldwin County Tigers 28-6 in a spring football jamboree at Ivan Jones Stadium on Saturday.
Cedrix Reed had four rushing touchdowns for the Lions, with three coming in the first quarter against BCHS. Javian Davis also had a rushing touchdown for Foley against the Tigers, who scored with less than one second remaining in the second quarter on Andre Davis' quarterback sneak.
In the nightcap between the Lions and Leopards, Reed put Foley up 7-0 with a touchdown run with 2:58 left in the first quarter. Blount tied the game at 7 in the second quarter on a touchdown pass from quarterback Quinterris Toppings to Mikiel Clemons. With 4:34 left in the game Foley quarterback Maison Taylor connected with Demarcus Bingham for a score that gave the Lions a 14-7. Foley held Blount on fourth-and-eight inside the Lion 20 with 37 seconds to play to preserve the win.
In the first game of the afternoon Blount defeated BCHS 20-12 behind two touchdowns from Demetrice Vaughan and a rushing touchdown from Toppings. BCHS scored on a touchdown pass from Davis to Brandon Goins and on a fumble return for a touchdown.
