The Foley Lions have senior experience in two places where it really counts: at quarterback and on the offensive line.
Senior quarterback Darius Powell returns after starting for the Lions as a sophomore and junior.
“Darius is back,” Foley head coach Todd Watson said. “This will be his third year starting for us. The good thing there is that he’s got a lot of games under his belt, a lot of experience. He has really come into his own and is a real leader on our team.”
Powell will be protected by an offensive line that returns four of five starters from 2009. Matt Robinson, Nick Lawhorn, Steven Jones and Ramon Wilson will be joined by senior newcomer Raymond Wilson at center.
“As offensive linemen it helps they have played a season together,” Watson said. “It is so important, especially on the offensive line, to gel and to be on the same page.”
