Foley man charged with animal cruelty

FOLEY, Ala. — A 26-year-old Foley man is facing animal cruelty charges in connection with his alleged treatment of a dog earlier this year.

The complaint filed in District Court of Baldwin County alleges that Jared Brandon Davis of U.S. Highway 98 East left a dog in a cage that was covered with feces. It also alleges the dog in question had no access to food or water.

Davis was arrested on Feb. 14, 2009 and released the same day on a $500 bond on the misdemeanor charge. The offense date on the complaint was Feb. 4, 2009.

Second-degree cruelty to animals is a Class B misdemeanor punishable by not more than six months in jail.
