BAY MINETTE, AL - Justin Shawn Miller, 31, of Foley was found guilty Oct. 20 for his involvement in a 2014 robbery in Gulf Shores. His trial for robbery first degree and conspiracy to commit robbery first degree began on Tuesday.

On July 22, 2014 at approximately 1 a.m., Gulf Shores Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at Courtyard Marriott in the 3700 block of Gulf Shores Parkway.

According to witness statements and surveillance footage the suspect approached the hotel clerk in the lobby and pulled out a black handgun. The suspect robbed the clerk of money from the register before fleeing the area on foot.

After a thorough investigation Miller was arrested for his involvement in the robbery on Aug. 5, 2014. He was taken into custody today after the jury returned two guilty verdicts. He is scheduled to be sentenced in December.

We would like to thank the Baldwin County District Attorney’s Office for their assistance during this investigation and trial. We would especially like to commend Assistant District Attorney Tara Ratz for her time and dedication to this case.
