FOLEY — A single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning claimed the life of a Foley man.

Jeffrey Wayne Hodges, 43, was killed when the 1974 Harley Davidson motorcycle that he was driving left the roadway and struck a mailbox.

Hodges was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash occurred at 2 a.m. on County Road 26, seven miles west of Foley. Although circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation, Alabama State Troopers say speed was a factor.
