DAPHNE, Ala.— Jerry Lee William White, 20, of Foley, was taken into custody this morning by Enterprise police and was charged with interference with child custody, Daphne police stated.
White was arrested after being found with Cathleen Pomar, 16, of El Paso, Texas — who was declared missing in Daphne on Dec. 22. The girl was found unharmed today at an Enterprise apartment at approximately 9:30 a.m.
“There was an acquaintance of White that was living there,” Cpl. Jason Vannoy said. “We called a detective in Enterprise and he saw the truck near the apartment.”
White will be brought back to Baldwin County today, and Pomar will be returned to her mother.
“We have an officer on the way to get him from Enterprise,” Vannoy said. “From there we will process him here. We will take him to the Baldwin County jail.”
Vannoy said bail has not been set, but he thinks the sentencing range for the felony is anywhere from a year to 10 years.
Pomar met White on the Internet, and arranged a meeting when she and her family came to visit Daphne for the holidays, said Sgt. Brian Gulsby.
Pomar and her family previously lived in Daphne and she was last seen at the Sea Cliff Apartments before being declared missing.
