FOLEY — School has begun and Foley Middle School is excited about the new school year!

With the new year, we are noticing new faces around campus. FMS would like to welcome the following faculty and teachers: Phillip Fountain- Assistant Principal; Wanda Teague- Special Ed teacher; Tracy Rowell - 6th grade science teacher; Jarod Gillen - 8th grade science teacher; Kimberly Mons - 8th grade math teacher; Larry Dickey - gifted social studies; Edward Morris - Special Ed teacher; Karen Graham - technology teacher; Nancy Melton - Special Ed teacher.

FMS would also like to welcome Ms. Cale Ebert to our campus as Interim Principal. Ms. Ebert will be filling the position of principal, until a full time principal is hired by the Board of Education.

Our new school is beginning to take shape. As you drive west on Highway 98, you will notice a lot of red dirt, some pipes, and some blocks, which will eventually become the new Foley Middle School. The new school will most likely be ready to occupy during the 2009-2010 school year. Our gymnasium is in the process of being remodeled. The new air conditioners have arrived, and we cannot wait until they are installed.

Each year the PTO sponsors Open House for parents to meet teachers and get a chance to change classes on their students’ schedule. This year, Open-House will be held Aug. 21, at 6 p.m. The meeting will begin in the cafeteria with a brief PTO meeting and conclude with parents and students visiting and changing classes. The PTO officers and school faculty would like to encourage all parents to make plans to attend Open House and catch a peek at the construction of our new school!
