ROBERTSDALE, Alabama -- Tuesday, Feb. 19 was declared Paul Schultz Day in the city of Robertsdale in honor of his 100th birthday.
Robertsdale Mayor Charles Murphy presented the proclamation on Monday to Schultz, a longtime resident of Foley who now resides at the Robertsdale Healthcare Center.
Schultz is a 1932 graduate of Foley High School and is a charter member of the Foley High School Alumni Association. He received a B.S. degree in accounting from the University of Alabama in 1939.
After serving in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1948, Schultz returned home to Baldwin County where he served as a distributor for Standard Oil/Chevron for 30 years.
Schultz is a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Foley since 1921 and was awarded the Foley Rotary Club Citizen of the Year award.
He and his wife of 65 years, Edna Thompson Schultz, have two children, five grandchildren (one deceased) and five great-grandchildren.
