On Sept. 7, at around 8:50 p.m., a Foley Police Officer was responding to an emergency call. As he crossed over Highway 59 on Section Avenue heading west, a subject driving a 2012 Hyundai Sonata collided with the Foley Police Cruiser. The driver of the Sonata and the officer was transported to the South Baldwin Regional Medical Center. The officer was treated and released. The accident is currently under investigation by Alabama State Troopers (ALEA) at Foley Police Department's request. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
