Foley Police make meth arrest

FOLEY, Ala. — A Mobile man is in police custody following a Tuesday drug arrest.

According to Foley Police, a call concerning a possible meth lab led officers to respond to the Town & Country Motel Tuesday.

“When officers arrived they found the meth lab in room six and called investigators to the scene,” said Foley Police  Lt. David White. “Investigators from the Foley Police Department and the Baldwin County Drug Task Force responded.”

He explained that the tenant of the room was identified as 31-year-old Jerry Butler from Mobile.

Butler was not present when officers arrived at the room.

“Butler was contacted at his place of employment and escorted back to the motel,” White said.

He explained that officers then searched his motel room and discovered several components used during the manufacture of methamphetamine.

“Investigators believed that the suspect had produced methamphetamine in his room on several occasions,” White said.

Police seized more than 28 grams of meth oil, along with numerous items of drug paraphernalia, the lieutenant said.

Butler was charged with felony drug trafficking and remains in custody at the Baldwin County Corrections Facility in Bay Minette, with a $1 million bond.
