FOLEY — One man has died as the result of injuries he sustained in a hit-and-skip accident last week in Foley - and police are still searching for the suspect.
According to a release from the Foley Police Department, Foley resident George Chiribao, 66, died at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola shortly after noon on Saturday, where he had been transported after he was struck by a motorcycle on East Michigan Avenue in Foley on April 28.
Police are still searching for the motorcyclist involved in the fatal accident who fled the scene before police arrived.
Officers discovered a piece of the motorcyclist’s helmet — which features a camouflaged pattern — near the scene of the accident.
Witnesses at the scene told police the motorcycle operator was a white male, approximately six feet tall, roughly 200 pounds with wavy hair.
