FOLEY, Ala. - Foley Star Players, a non-profit community theater group, will host a performance of the play "Funny Girl" on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Foley Civic Center.
The performance contains songs such as: "People" and "Don't Rain on My Parade." It will include many singers and dancers.
"This cast is people from the community who tried out. Some have never been on stage before," Donna Soto, assistant director of the theater group, said. "(There are) a number of students in the show.
Tickets cost $15 for adults and $10 for students.
The proceeds will help the Foley Star Players become self-sustaining.
"It costs money to put on a show, and musicals are quite expensive," Soto said, noting the royalties can be expensive.
"We're trying to see if we can become a musical theater in town."
