Foley to use software program for re-districting

FOLEY, Ala. - The Foley City Council unanimously approved a resolution approving the city subscribe to the ESRI software for a year, which will help the city in the re-districting process.

"This will help us in efficiently doing our re-districting for mapping," Mayor John Koniar said.

The 12-month subscription will cost the city $4,500. The program also will offer population and racial distribution of the area.

"It will incorporate new census data," Councilman Ralph Hellmich said at the council work session.

The next council meeting will be held on April 18 at 5:30 p.m. at Foley City Hall. The work session will begin immediately beforehand at 4 p.m.
