Foley's Uptown Halloween Party expected to draw thousands

FOLEY, Ala. — One of Foley's most spook-tacular events every year is the annual Uptown Halloween Party sponsored by the Foley Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The event typically draws some 6,000 ghosts, goblins and assorted monsters, but, if anything, the Oct. 25 Uptown Party will be even bigger.

"We've had more community involvement this year than ever before," said Christian Dew, special events coordinator for FC&VB.

"We're expecting a lot of visitors," she said of this year's Halloween Party, which will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Among the activities scheduled for the Oct. 25 event, which is held downtown ("Uptown"), are a Bounce House from Baldwin EMC, Doctor Gee the Clown and his balloon creations, and a dunking booth from Sprint/Nextel.

Also, lots of games , free treats, a cake walk, and a costume contest for all ages will highlight the event.

A ticket drawing will be held for prizes from Stacey's Ole Tyme Soda Fountain, and for a $5 donation Scene One Photography will take a 5x7 picture of your favorite trick or treater.

Concessions will be sold on site to benefit the Boy Scouts.
