William D. “Bill” Ford, 87, a native of Jacksonville, Fla., and a long time resident of Fairhope, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009.
He was a graduate of Murphy High School and attended Auburn University. He also served in World War II as a Marine raider in the Pacific.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrl Lord Ford, son, Douglas Ford, and brother, Charles Ford.
Survivors include a daughter, Lynne (Rick) Bellew of Mobile, granddaughters, Morgan (Cory) Wiggins of Mobile and Molly Bellew of Mobile; brother, Henry Ford of Atlanta; other relatives and friends.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. with funeral services at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15 from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Daphne. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
