PENSACOLA, Fla. – Pensacola State College recently completed its first forensic cyber-crime course as part of its Crime Scene Investigation Certificate Program. The course will be offered to non-CSI students in the summer and fall semesters.
Instructor is Deputy Zack Ward of the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office; Ward is a member of the FBI Cyber Crime Task Force. The course covers criminal hacking, cyber terrorism, sexual victimization, digital laws and legislation, criminal investigations and acquisition of evidence.
Pensacola State is one of the few schools in the area that offers a course specifically targeting the detection, investigation and prosecution of cyber-related crimes. The global and profuse use of computers, cell phones, Smartphones, pagers, iPads, thumb drives and other electronic devices makes such training necessary.
