Allan Halsey Fountain, 86, a native of Lake Placid, N.Y., a former resident of Minnesota, died Thursday, June 5, 2008 in Foley.
He had lived in Baldwin County for the past 23 years and had worked as an automobile mechanic.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II where he flew on P-24 airplanes as a co-pilot. He was a member of and an altar boy at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lillian and was a member of the American Legion and VFW.
Survivors include his wife, Karen White Hargrove of Lillian; sister, Mary Miller of Lillian; other relatives and friends, including a very close friend, Joe Connor of Fairhope.
Abiding by his wishes, his body was donated for medical study. His cremated remains will be inurned at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola at a later date.
