Four juveniles arrested in Robertsdale High School baseball field vandalism

ROBERTSDALE — Four juveniles have been charged in connection with vandalizing the baseball field at Robertsdale High School Tuesday night or Wednesday morning, Dec. 29 and 30, according Robertsdale Police Department officials.

Early Wednesday afternoon, Lt. Anthony Dobson, investigator with the Robertsdale Police Department, said the incident was reported at around 8 a.m. Wednesday morning.

It appears, Dobson said, that one or more individuals drove onto the baseball field destroying the newly set grass on both the infield and the outfield.

According to a statement issued around 5 p.m. on the Robertsdale Police Department Facebook page, those responsible have been identified, but because of their ages, no names are being released.

“We would like to thank everyone that provided information. The information that we were provided with today from several citizens certainly helped in getting this handled in a timely manner.”

The juveniles have been released back to their parents, said Lt. Rex Bishop, RPD chief investigator on Monday, and the cases will be tried in juvenile court at a later date.

According to reports, the estimated damage to the field is valued at around $5,000.
