Frank Meggs Windham, age 80, passed away peacefully at his home in Destin, Fla., on Sept. 7, 2012.
He was born in Moore’s Bridge, Ala., on April 16, 1932 to Wilma Sudduth and Choyce E. Windham. He served in the Alabama Army National Guard during the Korean War and was Honorably Discharged in Aug. of 1953 at the rank of Sergeant. Upon his return to Bay Minette, he began working at the Baldwin Times Newspaper in the press room. In 1973, he purchased Stanford Printing Company in Fort Walton Beach and has been the owner/operator for the last 40 of the company’s 51 year history. Frank loved Alabama Crimson Tide Football and fishing. He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Gesner; brothers, William and Daniel, and his son Jeffrey Windham. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Bobbe Young Windham; children, Thomas Windham, Shayne Stewart, Andy Stewart, and Judi Stewart Griffy; grandchildren, John, Paul, Matthew, Kathryn, Cody, Joshua, Rachel, and A.J.; sister, Sylba Cleveland and brother, Johnny Windham; great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends. There will be a time of visitation at Norris Funeral Home in Bay Minette, Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. A graveside service will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery.
