Freddie "Gene" Dempsey of Hollywood, Florida passed away on Friday Sept. 30, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Gene is survived by his wife, Deborah Sarbey Dempsey; his son, Zachary Dempsey; and his sisters, Betty (Jeff ) Wilson and Brenda Dempsey. He is also survived by his niece, Charlotte (Derek) Quinley; and great-nephews, Paul and Jamie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Freddie and Mary Nell Dempsey.
Services will be held on Tuesday Oct. 4, 2016 at 5 p.m. at the West Broward Church of Christ at 12550 West Broward Blvd., Plantation, FL 33325.
