DAPHNE, Ala. — The Shoulder on Wednesday raised at least $23,000 at its Fourth Annual Freedom Luncheon, the group’s primary benefit.
The Shoulder is a Daphne-based, Christian, nonprofit, substance-abuse treatment center. Since 1988, it’s the only residential treatment center for Baldwin County men.
During the ceremony, The Shoulder awarded Glenn Boom the first Freedom Award, which will be presented annually to someone who represents the best attributes of support for recovery from addiction. Boom was a founding board member in 1988; he still serves on the board.
