Friday event to benefit family affected by childhood cancer

FOLEY, Ala. – A local daycare center is looking for public support as they host an event to raise money for a family affected by a rare form of bone cancer.

Kid Plus Child Development Center in Foley will host a Trike Rally from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. this Friday morning.

This is actually the 8th annual Trike Rally the center has held, but this year, money raised during the event is going to the family of Tralynn Chisolm.

Tralynn is four years old and was enrolled at Kid Plus before she was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma last fall.

Members of Heaven’s Thunder, a local chapter of the Christian Motorcyclists Assocation, as well as other motorcyclists are expected to attend.

The children at Kid Plus will ride their tricycles along a portion of Bay Street in front of the center during the event, and they are looking for sponsors.

The City of Foley has agreed to close Bay Street in front of the center — which is located at 900 S. Bay St in Foley — during the two-hour event.

All children 3-and-up are welcome to participate, and any child under three can participate with parental supervision.
