Just as Beachin’ rolls in the waves and basks in the rays of Alabama’s Gulf Coast: Gulf Shores, Orange Beach and Fort Morgan, Beachin’s March issue celebrates The Luck of the Irish, as it explores St. Patrick’s Day area traditions and images, and braches out to revel in talents, exploration and the beauties of local landscape.

First, Capt. Mark asks, “Who’s on the island?” delves into the Scotch-Irish traditions carried on by Bill McGuinnes. The pub crawl and parade led by bagpipers are just a few of the riches he’s brought from the motherland.

Next we learn about alternative options for students on Spring Break and how giving back might offer the best vacation. Then, what luck, the famous Mitzi Gaynor will entertain in Gulf Shores.

As promised, there’s more on artists at the Orange Beach Festival of Art and the calendar of events and church page remind us how lucky we are to have such entertainment and worship options.

Get Hooked offers insight into March waters and the Adventures in Dining crew visits Wolf Bay Lodge in Foley, enjoys Southern delights and great customer service.

Dig into archaeology, dive with dolphins and learn about all the wonders at the Estuarium.

Enjoy the richness of emerald hues with a fabulous sampling from Coastal Photography Club. The luck of the Irish wanders beyond boundaries through the cameras lens.

Break tradition and find new pastimes with the attractions page and the guide to marinas and golf courses.

Reel at marvels of Mardi Gras as Tami explains history and terminologies, and adds a plethora of colorful photos for amazing scrapbook memories.

Once again, get lost with the Shutter Siren as we leave you with a beautiful notion of our area, the sights, sounds and stirring of senses…

Happy Beachin’!
