Indulge Me by the Sea
Just as Beachin’ rolls in waves and basks in the rays of Alabama’s Gulf Coast: Gulf Shores, Orange Beach and Fort Morgan, while enjoying the 65 degree winters and 90 degree summers, the November issue indulges in all the Thanksgiving season has to offer.
This month, Beachin' declares that less is…well, less! It's Thanksgiving, so bring on the piled-high plates; beach-bound loved ones; and full-house, family gatherings. Add in a lengthy list of things to be thankful for and you've almost got the picture.
Novermber's issue starts out with a few details of unusual, holiday happenings with Thanksgiving Traditions and Not-So-Traditionals. You might find some sinful seafood lurking in that stuffing.
Next, dive on down to The Hangout where you might find a few family jewels. The Oyster Festival may not promise pearls, but a variety of finger-lickin-good half shells is on the menu.
Okay, enough with the food. Where can you find some fun activities and maybe work off the extra, holiday pounds? Take a look at our What To Do calendar, then get out and Do, Do, Do.
Put that plate down; eyes bigger than your stomach? Well, you're in luck. The Coastal Photography Club's “Indulge Me by the Sea” prints are hot off the press…or the buffet, perhaps.
If you'd rather forget the holiday baking, dish washing and sound of smoke alarms ringing in your ears, check out the dining guide and leave it all in the hands of professionals.
Adventures in Dining features Les Roux: A Creole Bistro in Foley. Indulge your saucy side, and we're not talking cranberries.
Sip & Savor divulges delicious recipes for a family feast fit for a king. Okay, now we're talking cranberries with the Cranberry Cosmo. Why not relax and enjoy the bustling house and boisterous in-laws for a moment? Actually, before you dive into the martinis, better fry that turkey. Try out a juicy, crispy-crusted turkey with bold Cajun flavors.
End your holiday weekend by visiting one of the churches listed in our Church Directory and decorate a pumpkin or two with Gulf Shores United Methodist Church.
Sneak in a little You-time and Get Hooked with Capt. Don Holloway. Maybe take the R.V. or tent to a near-by campsite and enjoy the cool weather from hiking and biking trails, atop the swing set or by the campfire. You'll find your perfect spot with our R.V. Sites Guide.
Perhaps a round of golf or a boat ride is your idea of R and R. Scan the Golf and Marinas listings to see where you want to go.
Take the kids to a Fall Carnival, muse over a Thanksgiving poem or enjoy some local attractions; we've got the who, what, when, where and how.
Finally, take it all in with a little eye candy. Nope, more seafood…just a reminder to make Thanksgiving your own and enjoy the bounty of the Alabama Gulf Coast.
