BAY MINETTE, Ala. —  The Bay Minette Kiwanis Club sponsored its first Bookin’ 4 Books fun run to benefit the libraries at north Baldwin public schools. The 1-mile fun run was held in conjunction with the club’s annual Kids Day.

As part of the Bookin’ 4 Books fun run, the school librarians encouraged participation and all proceeds from registration funds were donated back to the schools designated by the registrants. The North Baldwin Coalition for Excellence in Education also awarded $100 prizes to the schools with the most overall participation and the most per capita. Bay Minette Elementary won for most overall and Delta Elementary for most per capita.
In addition, the first place male and female runners won an extra $50 prize for their school libraries. David Lee Bain won the male category and donated his prize to Bay Minette Middle School, where he is a student. Jennifer Kilpatrick was the overall female winner and presented her prize to Bay Minette Elementary, where she is a teacher.
