Geneva Anne Gambino, 81, of Inverness, Fla., was born March 23, 1927 in Flint, Mich., the daughter of James and Geneva Teague Sheltrown.

She was a homemaker and loving mother for 52 years of Crystal Gambino, who was injured in an automobile accident at age 3.

She moved to Inverness from Fairhope in 2000.

She was a member of the First Assemby of God, Inverness, where she was a wonderful Bible teacher, Sunday School teacher and served as the church organist wherever she lived. She enjoyed baking and loved to play and teach piano and organ.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph Francis Gambino of Inverness, Fla.; two sons, David J. (Karen) Gambino of Wyandotte, Mich., and Franklin J. (Sharon) Gambino of Laguna Nigel, Calif.; two daughters, Ruth Ann (Jim) Derrico of Inverness, Fla., and Crystal S. Gambino of Inverness; three brothers, Frank (Donna) Sheltrown of San Antonio, Fla., the Rev. Dwight (Audrey) Sheltrown of Nebraska; Doyle (Marion) Sheltrown of Bradenton, Fla.; sister, Audrey Armstrong of Midland, Mich.; six grandchildren, Joelie Sanderlin, David Gambino, Nathan Gambino, Gina Armstrong, Kristen Derrico and Daniel Derrico; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 16 at the Inverness Chapel of Hooper Funeral Homes. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 17 at the First Assembly of God, Inverness, Fla., with Pastor Dairold Rushing officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Inverness.
