Gandy to receive send-off

MAGNOLIA SPRINGS, Ala. — The Magnolia Springs Fire Department is hosting a retirement fish fry for Baldwin County Sheriff’s Officer Wayne Gandy, who has served as Magnolia Springs’ peace officer.

“He has been in law enforcement for the past 38 and a half years,” a community announcment states, adding that the fish fry is intended “to show our appreciation for the safety of our children at Magnolia Springs Elementary School and for the safety of us citizens in Baldwin County.

Saturday’s fish fry is co-sponsored by the Alabama Seafood Association, Commercial Gillnetters and the community of Magnolia Springs. For more information, call Darla Baird at 243-6003 or Brie McMican at 504-9161.
