Garh David Viens, 55, of Silverhill, passed away Nov. 2, 2014.
He retired from the United States Army as a sergeant first class after serving with honor for many years.
He is survived by his wife of more than 12 years, Jennifer White Viens of Silverhill; a daughter, Heather Viens-Barber of Banner Elk, N.C.; a son, Christopher Belval of Burlington, Vt.; four sisters, Stephanie Paparella of Libertyville, Ill., Heather Nolan of Yelm, Wash., Roxanna Firkey of St. Albans, Vt. And Michelle Degrechi of Burlington, Vt.; a brother, Adam Viens of St. Albans, Vt.; and two grandchildren.
A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday, Nov. 14, 2014, at 1:30 p.m., at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort.
