Harry Edward Garwood, a native of Cordele, died Monday, March 23, 2009 at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley.
He graduated from Cordele High School and the Georgia Institute of Technology where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity.
After graduation, he was an architect in Atlanta, Huntsville and Birmingham before retiring to Orange Beach. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Foley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles L. and Frances Boyd Garwood, brothers and sisters, Charles L. Garwood Jr., Robert A. Garwood, Jean Colcord and Evelyn Garwood.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Helen Davis of Cordele; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Garwood of Atlanta; brother-in-law, Alton Colcord of Atlanta; several nieces and nephews and grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 18 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
