Gary Don Thompson, 65, born in Stapleton and a resident of the Pine Grove community of Bay Minette, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at North Baldwin Infirmary.
He was a painter at Mobile Aerospace. He was a veteran of Vietnam, having served with the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Judith A. (Luker) Thompson of Pine Grove; a son, Terry (Anna) Thompson of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Iris Thompson of Brewton; two brothers, Dewitt (Anna) Thompson and Buddy (Barbara) Thompson, both of Pine Grove; two sisters, Irene (Dick) Wiggins of Pine Grove and Ernestine Buxton of Crossroads; stepchildren, Sam (Lynn) Glass of Robertsdale, Adam (Jacque) Glass of Rosinton and Aaron (Marie) Glass of Robertsdale; four grandchildren, Logan Sledge, Dylan Sledge, Jacob Burt and Tarah Thompson; and five step-grandchildren, Joshua (Tara) Glass, Courtney Glass, Jordan Glass, Emily Glass and Megan Gomez.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Thompson.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 10, 2014, at 1 p.m., at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home in Bay Minette, with the Rev. Ron McGhee officiating.
Burial will follow at the Alabama State Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort at 2:30 p.m. Military honors will be rendered at the graveside.
The family will receive friends Sunday, March 9, 2014, from 6 until 9 p.m., at Norris Funeral Home.
