ROBERTSDALE - With funding woes cutting deep into the school system, Gulf Coast Newspapers recognizes the need and importance of additional school funding. GCN wants to help teachers meet their classroom needs.
Each week, Baldwin residents read about more cuts to our schools. Your community newspaper wants to help take an additional stress off our already burdened teachers.
With this in mind, GCN has an additional incentive in the Newspapers In Education program this year. GCN would like to work with your child’s school and sponsor the GCN Classroom Subscription Fundraiser.
In the contest, students will be given a packet of information to use to sell subscriptions and renewals to any of GCN’s eight community newspapers in Baldwin County. The student’s classroom will receive a $5 rebate for every subscription sold. With as many as 25 children in a classroom, this money can really add up to a lot of class supplies, from paints to computer software!
In addition to classroom funding, an exciting prize for the top-selling class each month will be a pizza party courtesy of Gulf Coast Newspapers. They will also be the featured Classroom of the Month in the Baldwin People section of all eight community papers.
The program is open to both public and private schools in Baldwin County. Participants can join the program as an entire school or as an individual class. School clubs can also participate to earn funds for supplies.
