Gene Costa, a native of Rochester, N.Y., and resident of Fairhope died March 29, 2012. Born August 15, 1939, he attended Hobart College in Geneva and State University of New York. He worked 31 years as an educator in Gates-Chili H.S.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Christopher Costa and Agnes Spinelli Costa. He is survived by his wife, Eva (Evi) Costa, Fairhope; daughter, Janine Costa Denton, Hopkinsville, Ky., three grandsons, Michael Denton, Jason Denton, and Josh Denton; siblings, Sylvia and Donald Dattalo, Jack and Marie Costa; sister-in-law, Antonia and Helmut Reichspfarrer of Baden/Vienna, Austria; four nieces, Karin, Christine, Andrea, and Traci. Mr. Costa was a people oriented person and loved the people he met while traveling to 17 different countries.
A memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope.
