George Gustave Frederick Lenz born Dec. 24, 1921 left his earthly home for his heavenly home Jan. 12, 2013.
Lenz was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Fairhope where he served on the council, was the Sunday School Superintendent, a teacher and head of the Evangelism Committee. He was a member of the American Legion Post 199. He was a World War II veteran from 1942-1946. He was an agent and an associate manager for Liberty National Life Insurance Company for 29 years. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Jane Herrick, daughter, Barbara Lenz Busha and sister, Dorothy Callahan. Survivors include his wife, Joy Reynolds Lenz; son, George (Polly) Lenz Jr.; daughters, Susan Lenz (Paul) Pacey, Deborah Lenz (Frank) Black, Diane R. (Fred) Garza, Vicki R. (Mark) Shull; son, Robert (Marion) Reynolds; 17 grandchildren, 23 great- grandchildren; other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Redeemer Lutheran Church or one’s favorite charity. Interment will be in Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
