George J. “Ted” Mothershed

George J. “Ted” Mothershed, 87, a native and resident of the Phillipsville Community, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at Oakwood Nursing Home. He was a farmer and was also employed with G.W. “Pete” Mothershed Oil Co. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Langley Mothershed of Phillipsville; his children, Jimmy D. Mothershed of Phillipsville, Patsy J. (Richard) Lombardi of Fairhope, Lindsay Mothershed of Wetumpka, and Steve M. (Janie) Mothershed of Selma; one sister, Voncile Weekley of Bay Minette; six grandchildren, Angela Collier, April Brown, Brooke Griffith, Ashley Dunn, Jon Mothershed and Carlyn Mothershed; and 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, Feb. 17, at 10:30 a.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Klotz officiating. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Feb. 16, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Norris Funeral Home.

Although the family will accept flowers they suggest memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
