George Pervy Thames Jr., 55, a native and resident of the Rosinton community died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012.
Mr. Thames was a member of the Robertsdale Masonic Lodge No. 821, Shriners, Mobile Road Builder’s Association, Baldwin County Cattlemen’s Association, Rosinton United Methodist Church (including working with the youth group), Sportsman Hunting Club and was a longtime volunteer, giving his time to coach football and baseball in the central Baldwin area.
Mr. Thames loved hunting, going to the river and his cows.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Pervy Thames Sr.; and is survived by his wife, Ramona Hinote Thames; two daughters, Dovie (O.B.) Sewell and Daphne (James) Williamson; one son, Dalton Thames, all of Rosinton; mother, Joyce Thames Bankester of Robertsdale; three sisters, Melinda (Burr) Wallace of Robertsdale, Jane (Jeb) Smith of Gulf Breeze, Fla. and Eva (Scott) Podstata of Woodstock, Ga.; brother, Grady (Patti) Thames of Loxley; mother and father-in-law, Bud and Maxine Hinote of Robertsdale; four grandchildren, Jesse James, Madelyn Brook, Hailey Reese and Andrew Joseph; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at 10 a.m., at the Rosinton United Methodist Church, with burial in the Rosinton United Methodist Church Cemetery with Masonic services.
A visitation for Mr. Thames will be held Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Mack Funeral Home.
