George W. Nelson Jr., 79, and a native of Mobile and a life-long resident of BonSecour, died Thursday, June 9, 2011.
He was a member of Victory Life Church and was a master wood carver.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Nelson.
Survived include his wife of 37 years, Betty Nelson of Bon Secour; two sons, Randy ( Rebel) Nelson of Morganza, La., and Rodney (Peggy) Nelson of Bon Secour; two daughters, RoxAnne (Nick) Scozzafava of Silverhill and Michelle (Tom) Engebretson of Bon Secour;daughter-in-law, Sandy Nelson of Bon Secour; sister, Janie Howard of Jay, Fla.; 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; and the mother of his children, Lorna Dale Cook.
Visitation was held Saturday, June 11 at Victory Life Church, Foley. Interment followed at Pleasantview Baptist Church Cemetery.
