George William “Billy” McMillan Sr., 76, a native and resident of Bay Minette, died Sunday, July 18, 2010 at his residence.
He was a self-employed farmer and was retired chief jailer for Baldwin County Corrections Center.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette McMillan; two brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include six children, George W. “Billy” (Kathy) McMillan Jr., Virgil B. (Jeanne) McMillan, Sandi M. (Dwight) Galloway, Joni M. (Billy Don) Peavy, James D. “Jimmy” (Lisa) McMillan and Mary Ellen McMillan, all of Bay Minette; two brothers, Cecil McMillan of Montgomery and Laurie McMillan of Huntsville; three sisters, Julia Weaver of Daphne, Carolyn Noonan of Orange Beach and Ann Glover of Mobile; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 21 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Chip Starnes officiating. Burial followed at Bay Minette Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jody McMillan, Jeremy Galloway, Cody Peavy, Jimbo McMillan, Jake McMillan and Will Galloway.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Community Hospice of Baldwin County, 311 D’Olive Street, Bay Minette, AL 36507.
Arrangements were made by Norris Funeral Home, Bay Minette.
