George William Pelfrey, 79, died Monday June 6, 2011 at Golden Living Center in Foley.
He was born Sept. 11, 1931 in Adairsville, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. Pelfrey and Myrtle Lucile Wright Pelfrey; and brother, Lelton Pelfrey.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Mildredith Harger Pelfrey of Foley; two sons, Jerry (Leslie) Pelfrey of Ramona Calif., and Randy (Susan) Pelfrey of Chula Vista, Calif., daughter, Pamela June Hurst of Foley; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Bessie) Pelfrey of Adairsville, Ga.; sister, Brenda (Richard) Cowart of Adairsville; and sister-in-law, Betty Ruth Pelfrey of Adairsville.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 8 at Pine Rest Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday June 9 at the funeral home with Pastor John Fugette officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Rest Memorial Park.
Pallbearers are Bob Reeder, Bob Harger, Tyler Pelfrey, Mourence Burns, Brian Cowart and Richard Cowart.
Arrangements are by Pine Rest Funeral Home, Foley.
